A Celebrity Cruise ship finally returned to sea after the brutal outbreak of a vomiting bug which saw the vessel endure four full days of through cleaning and disinfecting. Centers for Disease Control put out a rare “no sail” announcement. Ship owner Royal Caribbean Cruises said that an occurrence of norovirus on the Celebrity Mercury had made it to return early to Charleston. Norovirus, which causes diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain, upset passengers on three of the Celebrity Mercury’s voyages during February and March.
